Based on a works drawing of 1874, this is a typical Neilson pug of a kind widely employed by contractors, colliery owners and other industrial users. Its ogee tank, hubba-bubba dome and archaic gib-and-cotter coupling rod bosses are classic mid-Victorian features and yet several locomotives of this class were still at work in the 1950s and even beyond.

The kit features the usual etched brass bodywork on a nickel chassis and includes yet another variation on our highly rated 108:1 three-stage gearbox. Wheels and Mashima can motor are needed to complete.
